I’m still in awe of these magnificent outdoor murals of Lyon, France. The sheer size and the impeccable details of these paintings just blew me away.
The most impressive one was La Mur des Canuts, located at the corner of the Boulevard des Canuts and the rue Denfert-Rochereau, in Croix Rousse.
La Mur des Canuts, up close. Can you believe that this is painted all on ONE wall? I thought that crane was real until I zoomed in with my camera to take a closer look!

La Bbibliothèque is located at the corner of quai de la Pecherie and rue de la Platière in town.
La Fresque des Lyonnais, located at the corner of 2 rue de la Martinière and 49 quai Saint Vincent by the Saône River, is another must-see attraction in Lyon.
The Musée Urbain is located a little outside of town in the Etats-Unis district. These murals are painted on various walls of the low-rent housing project buildings called Habitation à Loyer Modéré.
It’s a nice easy stroll around the neighbourhood, so don’t leave this part out when you visit Lyon.
